TESTIMONIALS

The Department of Corrections Aotearoa has had the pleasure of teaming up with the Dog Safe Workplace for over 4 years. The content of the course is always tailored to the needs of our frontline staff. The information is presented in different formats (written, visual, video, quizzes) to ensure that people completing the course fully understand the content. Our frontline staff complete over 10,000 home visits a year and the course provided by the Dog Safe Workplace is completed by all frontline on an annual basis to ensure they are confident when they arrive at a residence where there are dogs present. The course is an important part of our health and safety strategy and home visit policy and assists in keeping our valuable frontline people safe. The team at the Dog Safe Workplace are very responsive, helpful and work with us very much as a team to ensure the course they provide is relevant to our needs.

Ember Elowen, Senior Analyst: Case Management and Probation Practice. Dept of Corrections

Very recently I had an extremely frightening experience where I was placed into a challenging situation where my personal safety was severely compromised by a very aggressive dog. With no forthcoming help from the owner of the house, I was left to try and leave the property via a fairly long driveway which was fully fenced in with a closed gate at the end, with the dog in full aggressive mode right beside me for about 6 minutes.

Luckily for me, even under the stressful circumstances, I remembered all of the training, such as not turning my back on the dog, no sudden movements and no eye contact, which I used to the full extent, and I managed to reach and exit through the gate safely.
I have no doubt that it was The Dog Safe Workplace training that helped me escape what potentially would have been a very nasty physical dog attack. Thank you, Jo and your team, at Dog Safe Workplace.

We have been working with The Dog Safe Workplace since 2014 using both their Face-2-Face and Online training. We have seen a dramatic decrease in dog related incidents and I highly recommend them to any organisation where you have staff working offsite.

When you enter a customer’s home and they have a dog, you become the stranger or visitor in their house. The team at Dog Safe WorkPlace gave our people the ability to identify dogs onsite, understand dog behaviour and the skills to avoid being bitten while performing our work. We have seen a decrease in dog related incidents and having been a client since 2016 we will continue to work with them to reduce risk. Thanks team
